Cynthia Marie Brown, affectionally called “Cindy” was born on August 14, 1958 to Kathleen Bethea and King Brown in Florence County. She departed this earthly life on January 30, 2026 at the age of sixty-seven.
Cynthia Marie “Cindy” Brown was a remarkably strong, independent, and accomplished woman whose life was defined by resilience, love, and an unforgettable presence. Despite battling many health challenges throughout her life, Cynthia remained courageous and unshakable, facing each obstacle with determination, grace, and unwavering strength. She was the light in every room she entered—warm, welcoming, and full of life. Cynthia had a special way of making everyone feel at home, offering love, comfort, and support not only to her family but to many others whose lives she touched. She was known for her sassy, spoiled, yet deeply loving personality, a combination that brought laughter, joy, and lasting memories to those around her.
Cynthia took pride in her independence and accomplishments and lived her life on her own terms. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and guidance shaped generations.
She is survived by her son, Fredrick Lachoun Brown, Sr.; her grandchildren, Sha’Kera Brown, Malik Brown, Calesha Brown, Shy’Quan Brown, and Samaria Brown; great-grandchildren, Kylin Ennis, Zaiden Brown, Auriela Harris, and Dawson Southern; a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, King Brown; her mother, Kathleen Bethea; her brothers, Calvin Brown and jimmy Cloud Brown; her sister, Cathleen Brown; and her grandson, Fredrick Lachoun Brown, Jr.
Cynthia’s strength, love, and radiant spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
